  • What is VetIQ® Skin & Coat?

VetIQ® Skin & Coat provides complete skin and coat support for your dog. Each chew contains omega-3 fatty acids from fish oil, biotin and antioxidants to help soften your dog’s coat and leave it looking smooth and shiny. Because VetIQ® Skin & Coat provides omega-3 fatty acids, it also supports other areas of your dog’s health including its heart, brain and joints. Your dog will love each tasty soft chew.

  • I’ve heard about Omega-3 supplements for humans, why are they good for my dog?

Many of us take Omega-3 supplements for: improved brain health and memory, cardiovascular health, and mood to name a few. Pets can also benefit from omega-3 supplementation.

Omega-3 fatty acids are needed for most normal body functions and proper development of the eyes and brain. Having an adequate amount of Omega-3 promotes the health of your dog’s heart, brain, joints, skin, coat and more.

  • What are Omega-3 fatty acids?

Omega-3s are polyunsaturated fatty acids, or “good fats” found in fish, flaxseed, and walnut oil. VetIQ® Skin & Coat contains DHA and EPA, omega-3’s found in fish. DHA and EPA are associated with many health benefits.

  • Why should I choose VetIQ® Skin & Coat instead of other products?

VetIQ® Skin & Coat provides a readily available source of Omega-3 Fatty Acids for your dog in a convenient soft chew that can be a part of your dog’s daily routine.

VetIQ® Skin & Coat soft chews are specially formulated with a free-form fatty acid that provides maximum bioavailability of EPA and DHA and is efficiently absorbed by your dog’s body.

  • How many VetIQ® Skin & Coat soft chews should my dog take?

The recommended number of soft chews depends on your dog’s particular needs and size. Older dogs should take more than younger dogs, and larger dogs should take more than smaller dogs. As with any supplement, we recommend consulting with your veterinarian to determine the particular needs of your dog.

General feeding guidelines are as follows:

Puppies/Small dogs up to 15 lbs. — 1 chew per day
Medium dogs 16 to 50 lbs. — 2 chews per day
Large dogs 51 to 100 lbs. — 3 chews per day
Extra large dogs over 100 lbs. — 4 chews per day

For best results, if your dog takes more than one chew per day, split the dose between morning and evening. Be sure to provide plenty of drinking water for your dog.

  • How long before I notice improved health for my pet?

When your pet first begins taking the supplements, you may not notice a difference right away. The benefits of omega-3s are realized from the inside out — first the individual cells, then tissues, then organs. With continued use, you should begin to notice a shinier coat a couple of months after first use.
